We, at the Institute for Cardiogenetics, have set ourselves the goal of advancing research into cardiovascular diseases by studying different layers of omics data and integrating them with experimental data from mice, zebrafish, and human cell culture models, in order to develop better therapies in the long term.

Research

Integrative Genomics

The Integrative Genomics research groups apply computational methods, like next-generation sequencing, genome-wide association studies, and molecular modelling to unravel the genetics of cardiovascular diseases. This data feeds our Experimental Genomics pipeline.

Experimental Genomics

The Experimental Genomics research groups study the molecular genetics of coronary artery disease, myocardial infarction, and coronary artery calcification, as well as dilated cardiomyopathy using mice and zebrafish, and cell culture models.
