DZHK North Retreat 2026 in Lübeck
The DZHK North Retreat 2026 in Lübeck provided a stimulating environment for scientific exchange, inspiring discussions, and active participation throughout the meeting.
The speaker team, Prof. Dr. Tanja Zeller, Prof. Dr. Renate Schnabel, and Prof. Dr. Jens Fielitz, would like to thank all speakers, poster presenters, session chairs, and participants for their excellent scientific contributions, time, expertise, and enthusiasm.
The retreat showed that the success of DZHK North depends on strong partnerships, open communication, and a shared commitment to translational cardiovascular research. Key take-home messages included early engagement with translational researchers, technology transfer offices, and the DZHK TRG group to accelerate the translation of scientific discoveries into clinical applications.
Further topics included strengthening scientific exchange and collaborations within the DZHK Focus Areas, supporting and expanding the Young DZHK community, making full use of the resources, infrastructures, and technologies available at the partner sites, and taking advantage of DZHK funding opportunities.
A special highlight was the “Late Night with Young DZHK”, organized by Dr. Tobias Reinberger and Dr. Jorge Enrique Duque Escobar. The session provided an open and informal setting for questions from Young DZHK members, direct exchange with senior researchers on communication and personal career insights, creating a lively and inspiring atmosphere.
Another highlight of the retreat was the poster award received by Berkin Ersoy, clinician at the Heart Center, for his work on his doctoral research project supervised by Prof. Dr. Tanja Zeller and Dr. Olga Schweigert.
